ARCNN Young Science Ambassador Award
PhD students Brianna Thompson and Jenny Halldorsson have been awarded a grant from the Australian Research Council Nanotechnology Network to visit high school students in the local area, with the aim of inspiring students about nanotechnology and promoting science education. Bri and Jenny will visit 8 local high schools and give a short presentation, covering a basic introduction to nanotechnology and with some hands-on demonstrations of nanotechnology work currently under investigation by researchers in the Intelligent Polymer Research Institute. They hope their visits will excite, inspire and encourage students from a range of backgrounds into a future in science, and expand their understating of nanotechnology.
