Dr Andrew Nattestad
ASI Research Fellow, Intelligent Polymer Research Institute, University of Wollongong
BA/BEng(materials) from Monash University (2005)
PhD from Monash University, under the supervision or Dr. Udo Bach and Prof. Yi-bing Cheng “Development of photocathodes for incorporation into tandem dye sensitized solar cells”, which received the Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence for Engineering, 2010.
Andrew is heavily involved in the development of novel solar cell architectures, combining low cost technologies such as Dye-sensitised Solar Cells and Organic PV with ‘third generation’ concepts, particularly photon up-conversion. In addition to this he is heavily involved in water splitting and photocatalysis projects, seeking to generate practical solutions.
